I often get asked this question, “Why did I pray and God did not heal?” First of all to answer this question we must find the real question. God has already healed all disease in Christ, so the proper question is, “Why was I not able to release the healing?” The answer is- “We need to repent.” Repentance will always release healing and blessing.
Isaiah 59
1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened,
That it cannot save;
Nor His ear heavy,
That it cannot hear.
2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God;
And your sins have hidden His face from you,
So that He will not hear.
True repentance is not a turning away from something, but a turning to someone. If we try to make repentance about turning away from something our attention to that thing we are trying to turn from will eventually draw us back. We must focus on repenting to someone- Jesus. As we focus on Jesus we will become more like Him and more like His glory. As we agree with Him we will align ourselves with the will of Heaven, and the things of Heaven will be released.
Repentance means to “change the mind.” As we turn to Jesus He will renew our mind to think Heavenly thoughts. In this place healing, deliverance, and a release of power will come. Before He will trust us with the precious gifts of Heaven He wants us to think as he does. As we seek Him He will entrust us with more of the power and authority of Heaven. Let us then press on to know Him.
It is important to remember that repentance can be both individual and corporate. Someone who is sick might have the tendency to wonder if they did something wrong. That is not the issue. The issue is turning back to God individually and corporately. As we come together in corporate prayer and seek God’s face, He will heal our land and His kingdom will invade earth.
God wants to put the love of His heart in us. Then He can trust us with power. Power is for the sake of preaching the Gospel and it flows on the river of love. We love because He first loved us, so we will love as we receive His love and allow His love to flow through us. As we encounter Him more He will fill us with His love and power so that we can be witnesses of Him in the earth.

Anyway, I agree, turning to God is true repentence and the more we turn to seek him the more of his power we will have in our lives. I have been frustrated in not seeing healing when I have prayed but God reminded me of Jesus' teachings about the widow and the unrighteous judge. Perserverance is also a key. We ought always to pray and not give up. Persistant prayer somehow builds a reservoir of faith in our lives or perhaps in the heavenly realm. This may be the picture we see of the bowls in heaven. I am also reminded of what JOhn Wimber said, he had to pray for a lot of people before he started to see the healings happen. Bill Johnson has some good, short teachings on this.
